560 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach, 561-804-6826, RestorationHardware.com
The new RH West Palm, a high-end, luxury home-furnishings gallery in the wide median of the boulevard across from CityPlace, boasts sweeping city views from its lavish cafe on the top fourth floor.
It’s only the second RH (short for Restoration Hardware) restaurant in the country, in addition to one in Toronto.
“RH West Palm is an 80,000-square-foot architectural masterpiece that is an integration of food, wine, art and design, and reflects our quest to revolutionize physical retailing,” chairman and CEO Gary Friedman says.
Highlights of the compact seasonal menu are RH Scramble with crème fraiche, avocado and Texas toast ($13), shaved vegetable salad with cider vinaigrette ($17), truffled grilled cheese sandwich ($17), lobster roll ($28) and chilled stone crab (market price).
Sweet bites include RH Banana Split with assorted toppings ($16).
A grand crystal chandelier is suspended from a soaring atrium. Underneath, olive trees flank a 12-foot central courtyard fountain. Elegant, black and white lounge furniture at tables is spread across bluestone herringbone floors. Guests can sip glasses in posh wine-vault wings, which feature arched ceilings and brass accents.
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
