You may have heard the beer snobs/geeks/drinkers among you babble about the week ahead. It's the second annual South Florida Beer Week, and it's kind of a big deal.
There's little explanation needed: South Florida beers are pouring at your local bars from Jan. 19 through 26, starting with the pig roast at Front Porch Cafe in South Beach and ending with the Jupiter Craft Brewers Festival. And it's all a whole lot of fun.
Especially the first-ever South Florida Beer Bus to hit the road, taking less than 50 beer aficionados from the Funky Buddha to Due South, Tequesta, Brewzzi and back. I'll be on the bus to document the tastings, sloppy moments and other noteworthy aspects of a beer bus ride in Palm Beach County.
Sadly, the bus sold out a month before the tour date, but don't say I didn't warn you about limited seats. The Drink Like A Local team, who put together the bus, sent an email to attendees with the expected beer list. Lots of barrel aging and scotch ales. Check back at the end of the week for photos of the trip.
Today, Tequesta Brewing Company celebrates its third anniversary, and the Riverside Market is getting an early start on Beer Week this Friday. Click here to see a list of the best events thereafter, separated by county.
