WingHouse Bar + Grill

This casual Florida chain, based in Largo and founded more than two decades ago by former NFL player Crawford Ker, has debuted a new design at its second South Florida location in the former Hoops Sports Bar & Grill, joining Doral.

“We needed to elevate the brand and take it from the ’90s to 2020,” CEO Dennis Prescott says. “It starts with a new logo, new artwork and photos of the WingHouse girls, new upscale furniture and fixtures, granite bar tops. We just launched a new menu that also elevated our food, such as Gulf Coast red grouper [grilled or blackened sandwich, $12.99], switching to cold-water Icelandic cod [fish & chips, $10.99], reformulating our tacos [$9.99-$10.99] and improving our chocolate cake [$5.99].”

A dozen beers are on tap, plus more than 20 bottled. The Blueberry Blitzed Lemonade with vodka ($6.49) is a limited-time cocktail, and the libations menu is being revamped.

Lunch and dinner are served daily amid an earth-tone palette with a black ceiling and track lighting that illuminates light walls, wood furniture, a central bar and 30 TVs. Fans cool a wraparound patio with an indoor/outdoor bar.

“You can watch any sporting event that you would desire,” Prescott says.
