To celebrate its first anniversary, Flame on Española Way joined the ranks of Miami Spice restaurants and added vegetarian items to its protein-heavy menu. Meatless pizzas, gourmet salads and scrumptious desserts are some of the choices now offered at the grill-house. For Miami Spice 2012, the restaurant served creamy wild mushroom vol-au-vent, skirt steak marinated in mandarin orange sauce, and salmon steak on a bed of truffle risotto with mango Dijon mustard. The desserts, a hot chocolate souffle and a caramel apple cobbler, are small enough for one but just big enough to share, and presented on impeccable white china like all other dishes. Flame will serve its Miami Spice specials, at a reduced price of $25 (from $33) until Sept. 30, 2012. The restaurant is located in the Historic Plaza de España, 447 Española Way, Miami Beach.
