Cocktails, karaoke and death by chocolate at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival

By Marian Liu, SouthFlorida.com This year, the South Beach Wine and Food Festival piles on eccentric events, including ones with cocktails and dogs. "With more than 75 events taking place during the Festival, there's something for everyone," says Lee Brian Schrager, the festival's founder and director. "With new events like our Italian Al Fresco Feast on the Beach, Death by Chocolate hosted by Dominique Ansel, Yappie Hour hosted by Rachael Ray and more, there's an event to fit nearly every indulgence you can think of this year." The festival, in its 14th year, will take place Feb. 19-22 across Miami Beach. One new events is Art of the Tiki, a cocktail showdown that will pit mixologists from across the country against one another. "There are more people who are now educated in the experience of drinking," says Randy Perez, a competing bartender from Miami Beach's Broken Shaker. "It's the best thing for me. ... They now drink how I drink." Many of the events, such as the Art of the Tiki are sold out, but tickets are still available for the following.
