Jewish comedian Cory Kahaney (above), an equal-opportunity offender who often wisecracks about Republicans and Democrats during her standup, will perform Monday night at Florida Atlantic University's Wimberly Library (777 Glades Road, Boca Raton). The show is part of the 2015 Kultur Festival, eight days filled with concerts, films, author presentations, humor and book arts celebrating Jewish culture. Kahaney's 7 p.m. set, titled "Take My Advice, I'm Not Using It," is billed as a one-woman show, and the comedian has appeared on "Last Call With Carson Daly" and the "Late Show With David Letterman." The festival, which also includes performances by Klezmer Company Orchestra, will wrap on March 7. $13. 800-564-9539 or

Perhaps this is the year that ex-Miami Heat player Shane Battier, host of the charity karaoke party South Beach Battioke, will actually win his own competition for a change. The fourth annual Battioke, returning Tuesday to the Fillmore Miami Beach (1700 Washington Ave.), will pit Miami's Battier against a handful of celebrity guests, which in the past have included Heat cohorts Chris Bosh (2013's Battioke champ), Dwyane Wade, Udonis Haslem and actor Ken Jeong (NBC's "Community," "The Hangover" trilogy). Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the fundraiser ($175 in advance, $250 at the door, includes cocktails and light bites), will benefit Battier's charity, Take Charge Foundation, which awards scholarships to at-risk high school students.
