Aurora Natrix: O say can she tease

When Aurora Natrix performs her classic burlesque show, dancing to a smooth melody and slowly removing her vintage gloves, skirt and corset, she wants to transport the audience.

"It's magical," Natrix says. "It's like you're on a journey, and the audience is there with you every step of the way."

Her next burlesque performance will take place Saturday, July 5, during the Ritz Glitz Revue's "Red, White and Tease USO Burlesque Show" at Stache 1920s Drinking Den in Fort Lauderdale. Natrix sews her own costumes, mixes her music and produces her shows, in which she often performs with other women mimicking the 1920s burlesque style. On Saturday, Natrix will perform twice. Sofia Luna, Lila Starlet and Angie Z are also part of the show.

Although she's nearly naked by the end of her show, Natrix says burlesque is not all about nudity.

"It's more about the performance than what you end up at the end of the show," she says. "I feel like I am representing a different side of sexuality. The sexuality that you find in a strip club is a little more straightforward than burlesque."

The Ritz Glitz Revue will appear 8 p.m. Saturday at Stache, 109 SW Second Ave., in Fort Lauderdale. General admission is $10, table seating costs $15 and VIP seating costs $25. Go to or, @babicorb or 954-356-4710
