Hard Rock goes pink with specials

Most of the time, patrons chase the green at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. This month, the venue is going pink, with hotel rooms decorated in pink, a blackjack pit with pink decor, drinks and memorabilia in … pink

The Seminole Hard Rock's annual breast-cancer awareness and fundraising campaign benefits Breast Cancer Center Fund at Memorial Foundation, the American Cancer Society "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" and other organizations.

The Seminoles will donate 25 percent of select hotel room fees to charity in what they are calling "Get Into Bed for the Cause." Packages for the rooms, which have pink sheets and other touches, start at $229 for Sundays through Fridays, and include a $25 Blue Plate food credit, a $25 Rock Spa credit and a collector's edition pin.

Pink drink specials include the Rockin' Pinktini at Council Oak and the Plum Lounge in High Limit Slots; the raspberry mojito at the Beach Club; the pink bellini at Blue Plate; and the pink martini at Center Bar. Constant Grind coffee shop and room service is offering pink cupcakes to benefit the cause, and Hard Rock Cafe is serving a nonalcoholic strawberry basil lemonade, a strawberry dream milkshake and a strawberry cupcake dessert.

One casino blackjack pit will feature pink felts with ribbon decals and pink lighting.

Visitors can buy a collector's edition pin, T-shirt, bracelet, tote, robe, scarf, pink sheets and more, with 75 percent of the retail price of each pin and 15 percent of the retail price of other products going to charity.

Hard Rock Cafe concerts raising money for the charities this month include a Van Halen tribute band and groups playing rock and '80s covers.

Meanwhile, the hotel and lakeside at Seminole Paradise will be illuminated with pink lighting. Poolside, lifeguard stands will be painted pink, plush pink towels are available and pink displays will grace the cabanas.
