Forget the cattle call at the mall and shop for hip holiday gifts at the O Holy Knit Craft Bazaar in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday.

More than 65 crafty South Florida vendors will transform Revolution Live and Green Room into a quirky holiday pop-up shop, selling one-of-a-kind original art and goods from noon to 5 p.m.

"This is going to be the most-interesting holiday market in town," says Chris Gaidry, who organizes the event with girlfriend Amanda Weiner. "We're not selling country crafts here. It's much hipper than that."

Attendees can sip $3 mimosas and shop for handmade soaps, books, jewelry, home accessories and vintage goods made by local artisans using sustainable goods.

"It's in the same space where they filmed 'Rock of Ages,' " Gaidry says. "The venue has a lot of dimension."

The pair also organize the popular Night Owl Market, scheduled to return Jan. 26, and the City-Wide Market, set for Feb. 9-10 in Fort Lauderdale.

At O Holy Knit's Make-and-Take booth, shoppers can design their own wrapping paper, jewelry and ornaments with a donation. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Flagler Village Community Garden in Fort Lauderdale.

Visitors also can chow on burgers, veggie wraps and sweet treats at a holiday bake sale. The first 100 guests get a swag bag, too.

"In between shopping, enjoy the live music by Emily Shelia," Gaidry says. "Or peer into your future with a tarot card reading or get a henna tattoo."

Admission is $5, parking is free. Revolution Live is located at 100 SW Third Ave., in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-785-7475 or go to GetUpandCraft.com.
