On Friday night, World Wrestling Entertainment will return to the BB&T Center in Sunrise for the first time in nearly two years. The main event pits WWE champion John Cena against No. 1 contender Ryback in a tables match, in which the winner must slam his opponent through a table set up in the ring. Superstar wrestlers Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, the Miz, R-Truth and Fandango are also on the card.

"This is what I've always wanted," Ryback says, "what all the hard work I've put in each and every day is all for — [to] become the WWE champion and become the No. 1 guy in the company."

A Las Vegas native, the 6-foot-3, 291-pound Ryback says he attended his first WWE show when he as about 6 years old, and grew up watching wrestling on TV.

"It was just something so different, and not like anything else on TV at the time," Ryback says. "You had these grown men going out there and hitting each other, and it was fun for me."

Today, Ryback performs four or five shows a week with the WWE, a schedule that affords him little downtime. "A lot of people don't understand how busy we are," he says. "For me, it's a seven-day-a-week job. My days off are getting three-hour workouts in the gym each day, running all my errands and getting ready to go back out on the road. It's unlike anything I've ever seen in my entire life."

Even though Friday's show won't be televised, Ryback says fans can expect quite a performance.

"The value you get for your money is unbelievable," he says. "You have no commercials, so you're not sitting there. It's nonstop action from beginning to end, and it's more personal and more intimate. Everybody goes out there, and [we] give it our all."

WWE Live will take place 7:30 p.m. Friday at the BB&T Center, 2555 NW 136th Ave., in Sunrise. Tickets cost $34-$112. Contact TheBBTCenter.com.
