Top events to do Tuesday: Low-priced poker tournaments, Wok on the Wild Side and "Art Loft"

Wok on the Wild Side: Fort Lauderdale's Dapur Asian Tapas and Lounge (1620 N. Federal Highway) will be the setting for this Asian-themed mixer. The event, hosted by the Friends of MODS (Museum and Discovery and Science) auxiliary group, will support the museum's Youth Internship Program, which aids teenagers aging out of Broward County's foster-care system. 5:30-7:30 p.m. $25 for the public, $15 for Friends of MODS, and includes a drink and food from the small-plates menu. "Art Loft": The weekly art series on WPBT-Ch.2 will profile Tatiana Suarez, the Miami painter whose moody portraits of saucer-eyed girls, often necklaced with jungle creatures, have turned up in such diverse settings as Art Basel Miami Beach and on a new Reebok sneaker. Suarez is currently working on a large piece at 2020 Harrison Blvd., for the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project. "Art Loft" will air at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. — Ben Crandell

Low-priced poker tournaments: The series of 33 poker tournaments this month at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood climaxes next week with two big-money events, costing $5,300 and $100,000 to enter. But Tuesday is for those of us who are lower rollers. There's a Pot-Limit Omaha tournament at 3 p.m. for $240, and a Texas hold 'em tournament at 6 p.m. for $150. That's still a good chunk of a paycheck for many people, but for poker players, they're worth breaking out the shades, headphones and hoodies. — Nick Sortal
