Top events to do Wednesday: Chrystal Hartigan's Songwriters Showcase, Jesse Jones Jr. and "Midnight in Paris"

"Midnight in Paris": Woody Allen's rhapsodic rom-com in the City of Lights is a rich ode to cultural nostalgia, set partially in romantic 1920s Paris and filled with literary notables of the era. Ernest Hemingway, Gertrude Stein, Josephine Baker, Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Salvador Dali (the latter handled by Adrien Brody) round out the roster of characters in Allen's Oscar-winning film. The Fort Lauderdale-based art collective All Together Now is hosting the screening at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale (1 E. Las Olas Blvd.). Free for ATN members, $5 for everyone else. 954-262-0227 or — Phillip Valys

Jesse Jones Jr.: The multi-talented saxophonist, who plays alto, soprano, baritone, as well as flute, performs at a free concert from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Miami Tower auditorium (100 SE Second St., Miami).
