Bartender's best: Cafe Martorano

Who: Erika Molano

Where: Cafe Martorano, 3343 Oakland Park Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, 954-254-3944,

What it is: A dark rum, a white rum and an amber rum served with pineapple juice. The rums are left in an infusion jar with cracked vanilla beans and served in a glass rimmed with cinnamon sugar.

What she says: "I also call it an Italian rum punch," Molano says. "The Italian part is the vanilla beans. The cinammon sugar gives it a kick, feels like fall. It's a little sweet, but it'll make you giggle after a couple."

In loving memory: Owner Steve Martorano collaborates in the creation of his cafe's cocktails. After 20 years in business, the place recently received a liquor license. Martorano says the Long John is named after his late uncle Raymond "Long John" Martorano, who spent almost two decades in a Philadelphia prison and was murdered shortly after his release. The drink is sweet and strong, good for coping.
