They didn't spend much time waiting around: The FlaMass Family Lottery Joint Venture claimed the $148.8 million jackpot prize for the Powerball drawing held on April 23.
The partners of the joint venture are: Louis Centrella, 72, of Daytona Beach; Suzanne Centrella, 54, of Naples; and Christopher Centrella, 39, of Naples. They chose to receive the winnings as a lump-sum payment of $86,932,220.04.
Usually the winners take at least a month before claiming their loot. They use the time to get their trust lined up and assemble a team of legal experts and others. This wasn't the case here.
The Quick Pick ticket was purchased from E’s Country Store North, located at 14344 Immokalee Road in Naples.
It's the seventh Powerball winner since Florida began offering the game in 2010.
The next drawing is Saturday.
