Video: Dennis Max dishes on Social House in Delray

VIDEO – Dennis Max's dishes on food and his stripper name, @MaxsSocialHouse, @MaxsGrille, @MaxsHarvest

Back in the 1980s, restaurateur Dennis Max brought cool Cali cuisine to South Florida. At one time, he had more than 20 eateries in an empire that stretched from Miami to Orlando. And he opened the first farm-to-table restaurant, Max's Harvest, in Palm Beach County several years ago.

Now Max is touting Max's Social House Delray Beach, a new concept based on a old school idea: people actually having real, face-to-face social interactions instead of virtual relationships. Max's SoHo does this by having an unplugged vibe and house-party feel. It's even one of the fave raves of Nick Nistico, the master mixologist at Breakthru Beverage where we taped Rod with a Twist.

And speaking of Nick, this time he comes up with a drink called the Defibrillator, a concoction of chili liqueur, coffee and chocolate bitters…which is strong enough to make Rod and Dennis give up their "stripper names."

About Rod with a Twist:

"Rod with a Twist" is a boozy woozy doozy of a video series with actors, jocks and local celebs bellying up to the bar with bon vivant Rod and master mixologist Nick for irreverent interviews. It's a lil' freaky and a lotta funky with conversational twists and turns that dance right up to the edge…and then joyfully right over it. Too far? Probably. But after a few of Nick's drinks, does it look like Rod cares?"
