When Kick's Sports Bar on Wilton Drive closed two years ago, the popular hangout left a void for a neighborhood lesbian bar in gay-centric Wilton Manors. Enter New Moon, conveniently located across the street from Hamburger Mary's. Although the pool isn't as prominent as it was in Kick's, the club has a friendly vibe with indoor and outdoor bars, thus allowing smokers a place to chill. New Moon hosts several regular events, including karaoke Thursdays, monthly winetastings, two-for-one drink specials on Wednesdays, DJ Rae Rae spinning Fridays and live music on Saturdays and Sundays. Guest performers have included Beth Forry, Lorna Bracewell, Adrianne, Elysian Sex Drive and Nunez. In the ever-changing lesbian bar scene, New Moon has become an immediate classic.
