Cypress Nook
201 E. McNab Road, Pompano Beach, 954/781-3464
A tiny café situated just off McNab Road, Cypress Nook doesn't look like much at first glance. But the parking lot, packed full throughout the breakfast hours, should clue you in on the place's popularity. Although the sign outside boasts "German-American," Cypress Nook in reality is simply an eggs-and-bacon breakfast place, with a few more-Teutonic items such as kielbasa and bratwurst with eggs -- highly recommended for sausage lovers. The variety of unusual omelets also deserves mention, especially the Irish omelet, with Swiss cheese and chipped beef, and an amazing creamed-spinach omelet. Cypress Nook is open only for breakfast and lunch, but that's as it should be. If you do one thing to perfection, why do anything else?
