Howley's
4700 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach, 561/833-5691

Breakfast is served here all day every day and that extends to 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays, when night crawlers pine for Momma's hotcakes, the famous French toast and Belgian waffles, and Howley's egg sandwich, which comes with cheese, meat and French fries stuffed between a Kaiser bun. Open since 1950 and recently retrofied to include a dancing hula-girl lamp, this West Palm landmark has a full liquor bar, vintage milk shakes and grilled pound cake served with Grand Marnier and strawberries. The Howley's motto is "cooked in sight, must be right," and after all these years, no one will argue the point.
