Beautifully buff and well-tanned Olympic-level athletes dressed in baggies and bikinis have made the Fort Lauderdale Open stop on the AVP tour a must-see event for the past couple of years. Sold-out crowds of 5,000 fans regularly pack the portable stadium located next to the Sheraton Yankee Clipper Beach Hotel to see two-person teams featuring such world-class beach volleyballers as Karch Kiraly, Mike Lambert, George Roumain, Holly McPeak, Misty May and Kerri Walsh. Matches are played continually over three days in April, and every seat provides a clear sightline to the nonstop spikes, digs and high-fives.
