Fire and Mud Ceramics
134 N.E. First Ave., Hallandale Beach, 954/455-3099, www.fireandmud.com

Fire and Mud allows visitors to release their inner artists with a fun ceramics project geared toward experts and beginners alike. Studio time costs $10 for up to four hours, $15 for up to eight. A 25-pound bag of clay costs $10 to $12, but artists are allowed to bring their own. Glazes and firing cost extra, depending on the size of the project. People who get bitten by the pottery bug can become members and gain unlimited access to the studio, plus exposure in the studio's Web gallery, for $100 a month. Fire and Mud also offers group and individual pottery-wheel instruction.
