DO'S AND DONT'S

Here's what you can't bring into SunFest: coolers, bottles, food, pets, boom boxes, audio recording devices, Frisbees, scooters, roller skates, skateboards, bicycles, in-line skates, professional still or video cameras, knives, firearms or explosives.

Here's what you can bring: Lawn chairs, blankets, umbrellas, including beach umbrellas (you may be asked to lower them in concert areas), baby food or food for persons with medical conditions in approved containers, service animals for patrons with disabilities. Bags, backpacks and other hand-carried items are subject to inspection.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • SunFest No. 1 was in 1983. It lasted 10 days and drew 135,000 people.
  • The festival has more than 3,000 volunteers; a full time, year-round staff of 8; and approximately 100 corporate sponsors.
  • Raises more than $50,000 annually for local nonprofit organizations.
  • Has more than 165 fine artists and crafters competing for more than $17,000 in prizes.
  • Offers more than 60 concerts by national recording artists, regional groups and local bands.
  • Recycles close to 32 tons of cardboard, paper, food, ice bags and grease generated over 5 days.
  • Uses 300 tents, 500 tables, 5,000 chairs, 800 trashcans, 15 miles of cable, 6,000 feet of fencing, 500,000 cups and 250 Port-O-Lets.
