After a cloudy morning, expect a partly sunny afternoon - and a gorgeous weekend.

South Florida's Friday forecast calls for highs in the mid to upper 70s, lows in the mid 60s and a 20 percent chance of rain.

Saturday and Sunday should see clear sunny skies with pleasant temperatures. The nice weather should carry over into next week.

Central Florida's Friday forecast: Mostly sunny with afternoon highs in the low 70s and overnight readings in the low 50s.

March outlook: from weather expert Jim Lushine:

The first week of March will be uneventful, but the second may see some storms.

March is the first month of meteorological spring. Normally it's dry and mild in South Florida. But it can be nippy.

Last year, March was colder than December, January or February. The latest date ever for a freezing temperature in South Florida occurred on March 3, 1980.

Stormy conditions have also occurred this month.
