A Parkland home once owned by Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino hit the market this year for $2.95 million, but a buyer still hasn’t stepped forward.
So starting next week, the current owner, David L. Spiller, has agreed to rent it – for a whopping $12,200 a month.
Listing agent Michael Citron, who specializes in Parkland, said it's one of the highest residential rents he's seen in the city.
Citron declined to identify the renters but said they’re building another home in Parkland and need a place to stay until that’s finished.
Marino’s former pad at 6429 NW 65th Way offers 9,250 square feet, seven bedrooms, a movie theater and a separate guest house. The Hall of Fame quarterback sold it to Spiller in 2008 for $2.35 million.
Citron said it’s a terrific deal for Spiller, who will continue to list the home for sale. The renters will move out if Spiller does find a buyer.
“He gets the best of both worlds,” Citron said.Copyright © 2015, South Florida
