Two big political names are among the 10 finalists for the president of Florida Atlantic University.

A presidential search committee selected Jeff Atwater, Florida's chief financial officer, and former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux for interviews later this week.

Well-known applicants who were not selected include State Sen. Jeremy Ring and former Palm Beach County Schools Superintendent Art Johnson.

Five finalists will be interviewed Thursday and five on Friday. The search committee will then likely narrow the finalist pool to three.
