Conditions are ripe for rip currents Friday, the National Weather Service said (Sun Sentinel / March 27, 2014)

Expect a mostly sunny and breezy Friday with increasing cloudiness and a chance of rain through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, it will be mostly sunny today with a high near 82.  Winds will be from the southeast at 15 to 18 mph with gusts up to 24 mph.

Because of the brisk winds, conditions are ripe for rip currents at all of South Florida's beaches through 8 p.m. tonight, the Weather Service said.

Expect mostly cloudy conditions with a 40 percent chance of showers tonight and a low around 75 and winds from the east at 11 to 14 mph with gusts up to 18.

Looking ahead to the weekend, forecasters are calling for mostly cloudy skies with a 50 percent chance of showers on Saturday with a high of 85, a low of 72 and southerly winds from 7 to 14 mph, gusting as high as 18 mph.

On Sunday, partly sunny with a 20 percent rain chance. Expect a high of 79 and a low of 69 with westerly winds between 10 to 16 mph becoming northerly with gusts as high as 21 mph, forecasters said.
