Welcome to spring and a couple of nice days of South Florida weather

Sun Sentinel

With a half moon hanging in the pre-dawn sky, the official start of spring 2017 happened 6:29 a.m. Monday.  It ushers in a couple of days of very pleasant weather before a chance of rain kicks in.

A word on the new season from retired National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Lushine: Today is the first day of spring, the vernal equinox, when the sun appears directly overhead at the equator. The average high and low temperatures on this date are 78 and 63.  The forecasted temperatures for today are 73 and 63, a bit cool, but a near- perfect spring day. The remainder of the week looks near perfect also

According to the NWS, it will be mostly sunny Monday with a high near 73 and wind from the northeast at 7 to 13 mph.

Similar conditions stick around through Thursday.  Some clouds move in Thursday night and bring a 30 percent chance of showers on Friday and a slight, 20 percent, chance of showers through the weekend.
