Snapper extension: The recreational red snapper season in Gulf state waters will remain open for seven additional days this month, including Saturday and Sunday; Nov. 11 and 12; and Nov. 25, 26 and 27. Gov. Rick Scott asked the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to expand the season to help offset the economic effects of Hurricane Hermine, which hit Florida’s Gulf coast in early September.
Foundation banquet: Guy Harvey celebrates 30 years as a professional artist at the ninth annual Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation fundraising banquet. DU dinner: The Fort Lauderdale chapter of Ducks Unlimited has its auction and banquet from 6-10 p.m. Wednesday at Hugh’s Culinary in Oakland Park.
