It should be another nice, sun-drenched day, though a bit breezy.

South Florida's Thursday forecast calls for sunny skies with highs in the low 80s, lows in the low 70s and gusts up to 18 mph. Friday also should be warm and dry.

Central Florida's forecast: Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the mid 60s. Watch out for patchy fog before 9 a.m.

Strong southeast winds have propelled a cloud of Saharan dust 1,500 miles from north Africa to England, prompting air pollution alerts.

Saharan dust periodically drifts across the Atlantic on the heels of tropical waves in the summer, occasionally reaching South Florida.

Usually, it gets diluted during this 5,000 mile trek, making air quality issues rare here. The main effects in this neck of the woods: enhanced sunrises and sunsets.
