Sun breaking out after rainy morning

After a rainy morning that included storms over Broward and Palm Beach counties, the sun is breaking out this afternoon.

South Florida's Tuesday forecast calls for highs in the low 80s, lows in the mid 60s and a 30 percent chance of rain. There should be more sun on Wednesday.

Central Florida's Tuesday forecast: Cloudy with highs in the upper 70s, lows in the low 60s and a 90 percent chance of rain.

In weather, normal temperatures are computed by averaging the high and low readings for the date. How many dates so far in 2014 have been normal in South Florida?

In the 76 days so far in 2014, Fort Lauderdale has had a normal temperature on only two days. On 44 days the temperatures have been above normal with 30 days below normal.

West Palm Beach has had a normal temperature on four days. In the other 72 days, 48 days were above normal and 24 days below.

In Miami in 2014, there have been four normal days with 44 above and 28 below.

What will the remaining 289 days of 2014 hold? If long term trends continue it will be above normal.
