We should see an overall nice weekend, although afternoons should be borderline hot and more humid than in the past few days.

South Florida's Friday forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the low to mid 70s. It also should be a bit breezy.

Saturday and Sunday also are expected to be partly sunny with highs in the mid 80s, lows in the mid 70s.

Central Florida's Friday forecast: Partly sunny with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the upper 60s.

The weather should be glorious again today, but that wasn't the case last year on this date. Severe thunderstorms pounded Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Wind gusts of more than 60 mph and half-dollar-sized hail were reported in several locations. Damage was relatively minor, mostly to trees and shrubbery.
