The newest production, No Dogs Allowed, is based on the book of the same name by Sonia Marcano, better known to most as "Maria" of Sesame Street. Many of these students experience the magic of the performing arts for the first time at the Kravis. The center's management believes that once students are exposed to the performing arts through school, they are more likely to become lifetime patrons of the arts. Through "Kravis-on-the-Road," arts education programming is taken to venues within the community, augmenting classroom studies for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience live theater. Several shows highlighting talented local youth are held throughout the year through Student Arts Enrichment programs, including the Teen Cabaret and Spotlight on Young Musicians concert. The Family Fare program is a perfect way for the entire family to enjoy the theater experience together. Affordable prices and convenient show times for comedy, dance and music shows make this a great way to introduce youngsters to the magic of live theater. The 2006â2007 season, including new Family Fare programs, will be announced in July.
