Dining critic Mike Mayo has been an award-winning news and sports columnist, but he calls his new position with SouthFlorida.com and the Sun Sentinel his dream job.

“The only thing I love more than writing is eating,” says Mayo, who joined the paper in 1989.

Brooklyn-born, he graduated from Tufts University and NYC’s Stuyvesant High, and is always on the hunt for good pizza and pastrami.
