Each year in Broward and Palm Beach counties, high school student writers and drama students participate in Cappies, a national critics and awards program for high school theater.
Student critics attend participating high school performances and write reviews, which are published here. The critics compete for to be named this year’s top critic. They score points for the numbers of performances they attend and the number of times their reviews are published.
The student critics also vote in the annual Cappies Gala Awards, which are given to the drama students in a ceremony similar to the Oscars or Tonys.
