Eissey Campus Theatre in Palm Beach Gardens: Volunteers Needed to Usher
Palm Beach Community College's Eissey Campus Theatre in Palm Beach Gardens is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be ushers during the 2009/10 season. Ages 16 and older. Training is required. Super Bowl Ambassadors
January-February 2010. The South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee is looking for volunteers to assist in welcoming visitors during the weeks of Pro Bowl 2010 and Super Bowl XLIV and to help out with other Super Bowl related events. Gumbo Limbo Nature Center
Volunteering at Gumbo Limbo will give you the opportunity to become knowledgeable about a variety of nature indigenous to south Florida, while interacting with visitors from around the world. Deerfield Island Park Eco Action Days
The third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Volunteers are important to parks, especially when it comes to helping our natural areas clear out the garbage and invasive plants that continually plague our environment. Volunteers bring their own gloves, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water to tackle the weeds and trash accumulating. Volunteers are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Citizenship Class Instructors
Saturdays. Hispanic Unity of Florida, with the help of Citizenship Classes volunteers, assists more than 300 individuals annually in preparing for the milestone event of becoming a U.S. citizen. Hispanic Unity will train you and provide all class materials. Register at www.volunteerbroward.org.


Keeping the Coalition Office Clean

Administrative Assistance at Locks of Love
Locks of Love provides hairpieces for financially disadvantaged children with long-term medical hair loss. Administrative assistance is needed to send all ponytail donors a thank-you card, open packages, measure ponytails and sort by length, review donation forms and prepare for data entry. Volunteer opportunities include special events, crafts projects, peer tutoring and general library responsibilities. Some branches also offer Peer Power/Homework Assistance program for students in first through sixth grade, Young Sisters and Brothers homework assistance, and life and study skills training for teens.
