The 2009 Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards were held on Tuesday, May 19th at the James L. Knight Center in downtown Miami. The event featured students from both Broward and Miami-Dade counties as they competed for a prestigious Silver Knight award in 15 different categories. The categories were: art, athletics, business, drama, English, foreign language, general scholarship, journalism, mathematics, music, new media, science, social science, speech, vocational technical.
