Technology and the Internet have always been a vital part of teens' lives.

Teens have chatted online, played games online, even made friends online.

And now, more and more teens are gaining fortune and fame on the Internet.

Jack Gould, a senior at the University School of NSU, is the head of a film production company called Jist of My Fist Films.

His company gained popularity on MySpace and YouTube by making films and editing them. They have made more than 20 short films in the past three years and usually get 10 or more people to assist them with their films.

The students who help out are normal students who just want to make it in this world.

"We're all just seniors with a love of films and film making," said Gould, who plans to attend film school.

Students have generally positive opinions about their peers who get famous overnight through the Internet.

Sasha Naranjit, a sophomore at Boyd Anderson High, considers such teens to be pioneers of the modern world, taking advantage of new horizons to accomplish what they set out to do.

"Sure, they haven't gone through the hard turmoils and work that other people have to do to achieve popularity, but I respect them for bypassing the system and achieving their dreams," she said.

These attention-getters have started a new trend. Teen-created companies based online using YouTube and MySpace are popping up everywhere.

The Internet has always been a huge part of teen's lives, but now it could provide a path to their acting and directing futures.
