It's Valentine's Day, also known as the day of love, commitment and cheesy Hallmark cards.

Yuck.

Honestly, who has the nerve to believe that there is a baby flying around shooting arrows at people, causing them to instantly fall in love?

If this Cupid does exist, his arrow has definitely missed me.

Valentine's Day is not just an atrocity to those who are single, but to those in a relationship, too.

With a committed couple, each partner ends up going head-over-heels searching for the "perfect gift" for the significant other. This causes teens to stress more than they already do, not to mention creating a hole in their wallets.

For those who are single, it's a given that Valentine's is a horrid day.

Don't have a date to the school dance? C'mon, who really wants to be known as the loser staying home alone on Valentine's Day?

During the years, this wretched day has transformed from a day of loving each other to a popularity contest. Those who do not receive flowers or chocolates or have a "sweetheart" are ridiculed.

Various gifts are no longer a sweet sign of affection, but a trophy to those who receive the most.

Sure, it's a day when people show their love for each other, but don't you think it would be cuter if someone you cared for did all of the sweet things they do on Valentine's Day on any other day of the year?

On Valentine's Day, you expect to be given candy and flowers.

Wouldn't you appreciate it more if your loved one brought you these things on any other random day of the year?

(Yeah, call me when you find him.)

Valentine's Day is a reminder to most people of what they don't have in their lives, and it is a hassle for those who think they've found what they've been looking for in a significant other.
