Watching where you eat By Matt Ballas Cooper City High
While students at Cooper City High spent their summers at the beach or sleeping, construction workers continued work on Cooper City High's new cafeteria. The cafeteria is going to have inside and outside dinning, a food court, and room for staff and the kitchen manager. The cafeteria will be able to accommodate 700-800 students and will open sometime in February 2010. The students are eager for the new digs. "I'm very excited because it seems like it can benefit us, especially since it is so packed in the smaller one. The food court will make it more exciting, also," freshman Amanda LaTorre said. Sophomore Alissa Ang expressed similar feelings. "I am very excited. The old cafeteria is pretty small and with the new cafeteria, it will give us more places to eat lunch with the inside and outside dining." Some seniors are disappointed because they will only get to experience the cafeteria for a few months. "I am looking forward to it. I just don't think it's going to be done in time for us seniors to enjoy it," Max Milter said. "Our current cafeteria is loud and very crowded. I'm hoping the new one will fix that." |
