DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Contest:

Imagine America:

$1,000 for graduating seniors who will be attending a career college. Requirements: 2.5 or higher GPA, demonstrated financial need, demonstrated leadership or community service. www.imagine-america.org. Deadline: Dec. 31.

Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship: $1,000 for 9-12 grade. Must be in school or planning to start school within the next 12 months. www.gkscholarship.com.

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest: High school students write an essay on an elected official who has demonstrated political courage. www.jfklibrary.org, click on "for students." Deadline: Jan. 9.
