The Plague: A contagious tale

Every little girl dreams of being a princess – and what could go wrong with that?

Apparently, a lot.

Within the novel The Plague, author Joanne Dahme successfully takes you through the journey of young Nell, the "princess."

With the plague taking every city and the real princess's life, Nell, her brother George and a few members of the castle must fulfill the royal plans of the king.

Nell looks exactly like the real princess and is forced by the Black Prince to take on her role.

However, being a princess means a lot more than pretty dresses and crowns.

This novel is one that drives you crazy because you need to know what happens next, and the author makes it challenging by constantly introducing zany characters, storms and rats.

There's trouble lurking around every corner, and nobody – not even a princess – is safe from the plague.
