TALLAHASSEE -- Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston dazzled in his career debut at Pittsburgh.
Now FSU fans will have their first real look at the redshirt freshman as the No. 10 Seminoles (1-0) host Nevada (1-1) at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
Likewise, Winston will have his first game experience at Doak.
“It’s just going to be good, being at home, in this stadium, just playing on your home field,” Winston said. “Going away, sometimes it might be easier because you know everyone is against you, you have something to fight for. Now everyone is going to be with you.
“The team is going to be excited, the family is going to be here. You can have a little more pressure because these are the people you’re going to be with, but it’s going to be so exciting.”
Winston was 25-of-27 for 356 passing yards and five total touchdowns in the season opener against Pitt.
FSU students have already claimed their 16,000 alloted tickets for Saturday’s game against Nevada.
