35. G John Jerry

This 2010 third-round pick has started 29 games in his three seasons, but his constant battle with his weight, and limited run blocking skills makes him a liability. (Carline Jean / Sun Sentinel / June 11, 2013)

MIAMI GARDENS - The Miami Dolphins will rest all its starters but one in Thursday night's preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints.

Starting right guard John Jerry, who has played in one exhibition game this preseason because of a left knee he had scoped in early August, is the only starter who will suite up for Thursday night's home game.

Jerry only played the first quarter of last week's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and it is doubtful he'll play more than that against the Saints.

The Dolphins have already played four exhibition games, and game five is about evaluating the fringe players on the roster, which must be trimmed from 75 to 53 on Saturday.

Nate Garner, who has been sidelined by a shoulder injury, will start at left tackle. Sam Brenner will man the left guard spot, and Josh Samuda will play center. Rookie Dallas Thomas, the third-round pick, will start at right tackle.

Pat Devlin will start the game at quarterback, and rookie Mike Gillislee will handle the tailback duties. Brian Tyms and Rishard Matthews are Miami's starting receivers. Michael Egnew will start the game at tight end, and Evan Rodriguez will handle the fullback duties.

Derrick Shelby, Vaughn Martin, Kheeston Randall and Antwan Applewhite will be the Dolphins' starting defensive line. Austin Spitler, Jonathan Freeny and Jason Trusnik are the starting linebacker, and Miami's secondary will be manned by R.J. Stanford, Jamar Taylor and safeties Kelcie McCray and Jimmy Wilson.

Two rookies battling injuries - defensive end Dion Jordan (shoulder) and cornerback Will Davis (ankle) - will not participate in the preseason finale.
