Enjoy the gorgeous fall weather in South Florida at two art festivals in Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach this weekend.
More than 300 artists and vendors will set up on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale and Atlantic Avenue in downtown Delray Beach, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 18-19.
Artists and crafters will be offering everything from paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry and one-of-a-kind works in every medium. Admission to both events is free.
The two venerable October festivals, both Howard Alan juried art fairs, will feature "Pinktober" themed items to raise funds for breast cancer awareness.
Howard Alan juried art fairs first set up on the sidewalks in South Florida in 1987 with just 16 artists, according to the promoter.
The Las Olas Art Fair, in its 27th year, sets up between Southeast Sixth and 11th avenues. This year, patrons can enter to win "Whispering Wave," a beach-themed art print by Michael and Brian Jasinski (JasinskiBrothers.com) that is valued at $595. No purchase is necessary.
The 20th Annual Downtown Delray Beach Craft Festival will be at the intersection of Fourth and Atlantic avenues.
