"The Book of Mormon"

The winner of nine Tony Awards in 2011 - including Best Musical, Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical - will play at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts as part of a national tour. The twisted religious satire has music, book and lyrics by "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, working with Robert Lopez (who co-wrote the book for "Avenue Q" and has a hot new development deal with ABC). But that's not all. In 2011, the show won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album (and has the highest-charting cast album on the Billboard charts in four decades) and a New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Musical and a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical. Performances will be Nov. 26-Dec. 22 at The Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale.
