The fingerprints of Bonnie Clearwater are all over the NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale's 2014-2015 schedule.

The lineup of 10 exhibitions, announced last week, constitutes the first full season to be curated by Clearwater since she became the museum's executive director in September. The season will open June 1 with "Research and Development: Concerning Belonging," in which South Florida artists Antonia Wright, Agustina Woodgate, Rick Ulysse and Natasha Lopez de Victoria will do summerlong residencies in the museum's second-floor gallery and create projects based on themes of homelessness and belonging.

The project may sound familiar to visitors of Clearwater's previous employer, the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, where she presented a similar art residency titled "Trading Places."

"This will explore the idea of art as therapy, but it's all very experimental, so we don't know what we'll get," Clearwater says. "The public can walk through these studio spaces as they're being used by the artists."

Other exhibitions:

"The Miami Generation: Revisited" (July 13-Sept. 21): The show reunites the work of nine Cuban exiles who presented the original "Miami Generation" exhibit in 1983 at the now-defunct Cuban Museum of Arts and Culture.

“When the Stars Begin to Fall: Imagination and the American South" (Aug. 3-Oct. 12): This display of outsider art comprises 35 artists who are self-taught, spiritually inspired or incarcerated, and who create mixed-media works about black life in the South.

“Café Dolly: Picabla, Schnabel, Willumsen” (Oct. 12, 2014-Feb. 1, 2015): This roundup of paintings by French artist and Dadaist Francis Picabia, Danish artist J.F. Willumsen and 1980s New York artist Julian Schnabel provoke questions about good taste, style and ethics in art.

"American Scene Photography: Martin Z. Marguiles Collection" (Nov. 2-March 22, 2015): The display assembles images from Lewis Hines, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange and other early-20th century photographers, on loan from the Wynwood-based collection.

"Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera From the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection and Mexican Modernism From the Stanley and Pearl Goodman Collection" (Feb. 26-May 31, 2015): More than 30 paintings by the famed artists will be displayed with works from other Mexican modernists.

“Aesthetic Decisions” (March 8-Aug. 2, 2015): Bonnie Clearwater curates this group exhibit of 20th- 21st century works that challenge the idea of assigning aesthetic value to artworks, with emphasis on Marcel Duchamp, John Baldessari, Judy Fiskin and others.

“Helhesten: The Hell-horse: Danish Cultural Resistance During World War II” (April 10-Oct. 4, 2015): Drawing on the Cobra art movement for inspiration, this show highlights the abstract works of the Danish collective "Hell-Horse," whose World War II-era pieces expressed resistance to the Nazi occupation of Denmark and shaped the agenda of Cobra artists.

“From Within and Without: The History of Haitian Photography” (June 21-Sept. 13, 2015): The show assembles the images of 20 photographers that chronicle Haitian life before and after the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

“The Indestructible Lee Miller” (Oct. 4, 2015-Jan. 3, 2016): Another Clearwater-curated exhibit captures the hard life of the 1920s fashion model and muse of surrealist photographer Man Ray, who would go on to become a combat photojournalist during World War II, as well as shape modern fashion photography for British Vogue.
