Frock-umentary "Mademoiselle C" opens in SoFla

Staff Writer

What do you mean you don't know who Carine Roitfeld is?

Well, I sat behind her once at New York Fashion Week years and years ago, and I didn't have a clue either. I just assumed she was a French actress. She kinda had that look, y'know?

Well one of the photographers - a breeder no less - told me that she was the editrix of French Vogue (for 10 years). Oh, the humiliation! Being schooled on les monde de la moda by a straight guy! Mon Dieu, mes amis, mon dieu.

Well now we can all catch up. Carine Roitfeld is one of fashion’s most influential movers. Her inner circle of friends includes Donatella Versace, Tom Ford, Karl Lagerfeld, Mario Testino, Riccardo Tisci, Diane Von Furstenberg and Alexander Wang.

And they all appear in "Mademoiselle C," a frock-umentary that opens Friday, Sept. 13 at both The Classic Gateway Theatre in Fort Lauderdale and the Regal South Beach Stadium 18 in Miami Beach.

The fashion flick follows Roitfeld as she launches her new magazine, “CR Fashion Book” and reportedly gives a rare inside glimpse at the inner workings not only of her professional world but also her personal life (she moves to New York, starts a new business and prepares to become a grandma - no kidding).

I know, I know, we all have done that and much more. It's just that Roitfeld does it surrounded by models, celebrities and eccentric personalities.
