Dwyane Wade - one of the most sartorially stylish athletes on the scene - is double-teaming neckwear.
The Miami Heat hoopster first declared on Twitter two hours ago that September was "Wade Fashion Month."
Then an hour later he Tweeted that he was teaming with Chicago-based Tie Bar for a men's furnishings (to use the ol' haberdashery term) line that will include 30 bowties, 15 neckties, 15 pocket squares as well as tie bars and cufflinks.
It will be called "The Gentleman by Dwyane Wade."
“Style has always been a personal interest of mine," says Wade in a press release. "Being able to explore a new avenue of fashion with The Tie Bar is exciting for me. I already own so many bow ties and ties from The Tie Bar so I am excited to step into the designer’s seat and create my own line with them, shares NBA Champion."
Wade's fashion stylist Calyann Barnett adds, "The Gentleman by Dwyane Wade neckwear collection for The Tie Bar will allow men who love his style access to his witty color combinations, intriguing patterns and bespoke textures. Finally what everyone has been waiting for..."
Word has it that the idea was spawned as the big baller was designing his own shoes and socks. Look for the line to drop in November...although we think a sneak peek may be found in teammates' lockers soon.
