Miami glamazon brings Moroccan fashion to SoFlo

Staff Writer

Morocco is coming to Miami.

Well, at least the signature style of Morocco. Asmaa Benkirane, a Moroccan jetsetter cooling her jets in Miami Beach will give us a taste of her plans for her Le Beau Maroc boutique scheduled to open this spring with a pop-up shop right now.

In addition to imported designer jewelry art, the one-day boutique will spotlight two of Morocco's best-known designer labels: RENATA by Souad Chraïbi and ATELIER S by Siham Tazi and their one-of-a-kind caftans.

That's right, caftan couture.

Each is hand-sewn and hand embellished with pearls, precious stones, exotic beads as well as silver and gold threads - all on rare fabrics.

“People will see something entirely different that they won’t find anywhere in the U.S.,” says Benkirane. “They will have a sense of the garment’s exoticism at first sight, as though they are traveling through royal history.”

The pop-up is Saturday, March from noon to 4 p.m. at Semilla Eatery & Bar, 1330 Alton Road, Miami Beach 33139. Valet parking is available.
