10th annual Young At Art Teen Recycled Fashion Show
What: Girls from the Young At Art Museum's outreach programs design wearable clothes using recycled and repurposed materials such as newspapers, cardboard, egg cartons, canvas, remnant fabric, bottle caps and plastics. The theme this year is "Surrealism Restyled!" drawing inspiration from the museum's exhibit, "Transformation of Echo: World of Dreams," by Fort Lauderdale artist Leah Brown.
Quote: "As we celebrate 10 years of creative teen designers, this event has grown from a few teen participants to a full-blown, professionally staged fashion show," said Mindy Shrago, executive director/CEO of the Young At Art Museum. "It now is one of the most popular community events in the area, for which the teen designers begin preparing during the summer and put in more than 100 hours of work to take their designs from concept to runway."
When: 7 p.m. Nov. 13
Where: Young At Art Museum, 751 SW 121st Ave., Davie
