This week on South Florida stages: Oh, God

Theater performances this week in SoFlo: @MiamiCityBallet, @gablestage, @LWPlayhouse.

Here is what is going on in South Florida theaters this week.

Death by Design

Whodunit? The list of suspects in this murder mystery set in an English country manor circa 1932 is long and varied. Was it the playwright and the actress, both fleeing London after devastating reviews of their latest stage production? The politician? The socialist? The ingenue? The dancer? Instead of a detective, the crime is solved by the maid.

When: Nov. 18-Dec. 4; 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays (also Wednesday, Nov. 30 and Thursday, Dec. 1); 2 p.m. matinees Saturdays and Sundays

Where: Lake Worth Playhouse, 713 Lake Ave.

Cost: $29 and $35. Dinner and show packages cost from $60 to $72.

Ballet for Young People

Miami City Ballet launches its Share the Dance Community Outreach series of "Ballet for Young People" with an outdoor performance of "Carnival of the Animals: The Swansong," which features a cast of kid-friendly, dancing animals. The outreach program will continue throughout the 2016-2017 season, including sensory-friendly shows for children who fall within the autism spectrum (the first of these performances will take place Jan. 18 at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium).

When: 6 p.m. Nov. 19

Where: Downtown Doral Park, 8395 NW 53rd St.

Cost: Free

An Act of God

The premise of this comedy is simple: God explains it all to you with a little help from his angels Gabriel and Michael. You'll also get a new and improved set of commandments to boot. The playwright David Javerbaum, who has written for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, got the idea for the show from a Twitter account he called @TheTweetOfGod.

When: Nov. 19-Dec. 18; 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays; 7 p.m. Sundays (except for Nov. 20); 2 p.m. matinees Sundays

Where: GableStage, 1200 Anastasia Ave., Coral Gables

Cost: $45-$60 (seniors $42 and $57)

Contact: 305-445-1119 or GableStage.org

Other works will include "Under the Olive Tree," "Talisman Pas de Deux" and "Ante el Escorial Pas de Deux."

When: 5 p.m. Nov. 20
